Welcome to my little knowledge hub. I’ve tried creating something like this many times in the past but have always quickly abandoned it. I think it’s because I was more interested in having a knowledge hub than I was in the stuff I was filling it with. Now, it’s different! I think. I’m much more interested in the material that I’m filling this page with than the page in and of itself. In the past couple of months, my curiosity has quickly overwhelmed the humble capacity of my Notes app, so this page is borne out of a need for me to have a better system in place so I can do justice to my creative pursuits.
I have a blog hosted on Substack.
4/30/23 Update: I’ve been awful at updating this tbh, so changes have had to be made:
- Removed the Notebooks section - This was an awful idea lol. Instead of trying to remember everything I come across or come up with a system, I’m going to trust that I’ll instinctively remember the important stuff and forget all the stuff that was just noise anyways.
- Revamped Projects section - For projects, I think I need to vastly reduce the scope of everything I’m tossing on there. I think what I’m going to do is turn it into a ‘what’s going on outside of work right now’ section and use it as a tracker to share what my current main focuses are. This’ll help me stay intentional and not spread myself out too thin.
- Added Quotes section - I think it’ll be better to move the quotes that have been impactful for me into Notion and outside of my notes app, which is where I’m storing most of them right now. I’m not sure what the best way to organize this is, but I’ll iterate and come to something that works for me. It’s weird having a separate quotes section (b/c I’m going to be saving article highlights + book highlights in the sections with articles / books), but I think it works. We’ll see. 1
- Added Articles section - I think it’ll be better moving these into Notion instead of Raindrop, which is where they currently reside. I think I want to use Raindrop more to save links to interesting websites or things I want to buy (I’m a shopaholic oops) instead of the articles / things I read that really moved me. I think I’d like to keep everything in one spot, and Notion is the easiest place right now.
- Here’s what my stack looks like right now:
- Raindrop - to save interesting links (shopping, interesting websites, etc.). I’m going to stop using this as a hub for my reading b/c it honestly doesn’t work that well.
- Notion - main reading + organization hub.
- Omnivore - new tool that I found that seems a lot more optimized / focused on the reading experience. I’m going to move everything out of Raindrop and into Omnivore. And it looks like it can take in email newsletters too, so that’ll help me keep my inbox clean. I can’t wait to start using this.
- Spark - email client that honestly is just a nicer UI than Mail. I don’t even know if it’s nicer really. It’s just different, but fuck it we’ve been rolling with it for a while now and I don’t see a reason to stop.

Books
This is my attempt to be intentional about the books that I’ve read. Too often have I read books where I forget the most impactful parts soon after reading, so I’m hoping building this little database and putting in a little thought while reading / after reading will make the things I read more meaningful and impactful. These are the things I’m hoping to capture:
- Quotes - I’m a huge quote person, and whenever I come across a sentence or paragraph that makes me stop and go ‘wow’, I like to note it down.
- Takeaways - I’ll try to write this as soon as I finish a book. I want this to be reserved for not necessarily the central ideas I took away from the books, but more so the lasting impressions I have from the book and if / how this book will change what I do or how I think.
- Ideas / Notes - I’ll reserve this section for any new ideas or concepts I come across.

⚠️ I only started this in April 2022 and wasn’t all that intentional about the stuff I read in the earlier months so the notes from some of the books here might be a little sparse 😪
